You Cam go home again.
The Carolina Panthers met with Cam Newton on Thursday and everything must have gone well as the team signed the quarterback it once drafted with the first overall pick in 2011.
In case you were wondering, he will be wearing his familiar No. 1 and is already listed on the team’s roster.
The Panthers are in need of a quarterback because Sam Darnold suffered a fractured shoulder blade and is lost for at least 4 weeks.
Former XFL QB P.J. Walker is expected to start this week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Newton played with the Panthers from 2011 through 2019 before being released. He led them to a Super Bowl after a 15-1 regular season in 2015.
He played for the New England Patriots last season and was released at the end of training camp in 2021.
Overall, Newton has thrown for 31,698 yards with 190 TD passes.
He also has rushed for 5,398 yards and 70 touchdowns.
