Chelsea could make a surprise move to sign Everton defender Lucas Digne during the January transfer window.
Digne recently had a fall-out with manager Rafael Benitez, and it has been claimed that the pair have rarely seen eye to eye.
This has led to suggestions that he could leave next month, and Sport claims that the Blues could lodge an offer for him.
The Toffees are currently in a tight position with the Financial Fair Play, and could be open to selling outcasts in January.
While Benitez has maintained that he has a good relationship with Digne, it won’t be a surprise if the Frenchman leaves.
He may not return until late January. Meanwhile, there are suggestions that a new player could be signed to replace Alonso.
Alonso is open to leaving the Blues. The Spaniard is keen on regular game time next year with a World Cup spot up for grabs.
