The Arizona Cardinals upended the No. 2 Carolina Panthers 33-13 at Bank of America Stadium on Jan. 10. Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme collapsed like a card table when a neckbeard rage-quits at Magic: The Gathering with five interceptions and a lost fumble.

The next day, the Philadelphia Eagles, who were on a magical no-shave playoff run, demolished the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants 23-11 at Giants Stadium. The Giants were the second consecutive NFC East team to gain home-field advantage and choke it away in the divisional round. The first were the Dallas Cowboys in 2007, incidentally, to the Giants.

The Cardinals edged the Eagles 32-25 in a battle of the birds in Glendale, Arizona, for the NFC Championship Game. Arizona felt short 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII as Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger delivered a miraculous strike to receiver Santonio Holmes.
