Arsenal have the opportunity to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria next month.
The Swiss has no plans of renewing his contract expiring next summer, and the same has been confirmed by the club.
According to Fussball Transfers, the Bundesliga outfit would be open to selling him for €7m in January rather than losing him for nothing.
The midfielder is attracting plenty of transfer interest, and it is claimed that the Gunners have made contact with his representatives.
Zakaria was heavily linked with the Gunners last summer. It was suggested that he could be swapped with former Gladbach captain Xhaka.
Nothing of that sort happened. Xhaka signed a new deal until June 2024, but the Gunners could still pursue the services of Zakaria.
The 25-year-old is a defensive midfielder. He has a good physical presence alongside excellent dribbling and distribution qualities.
He would fit the requirements of manager Mikel Arteta, but the Gunners face competition from Barcelona, Juventus among others.
