Borussia Dortmund could look to sign Chelsea striker Timo Werner this summer, Sky Germany reports.
The German has endured a tough time with the London giants, and he has made just one start since the turn of the year.
Ahead of the summer, he has been fancied to leave the Blues. A return to the Bundesliga could be a real possibility.
Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on him, but Dortmund could enter the race if they fail to land Karim Adeyemi.
Adeyemi has been identified as a potential replacement for Erling Haaland, but they have yet to negotiate a fee.
Salzburg are adamant over the €40 million price tag. Dortmund are currently reluctant to pay more than €30m.
This could turn their attention towards Werner, who could be available on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
The major stumbling block could be his wages. Werner will need to accept a pay-cut on his €16m annual salary.
