Manchester United have their sights on landing Barcelona defender Sergino Dest before the transfer window closes.
Dest has been with the Catalan giants for two seasons, but there are genuine doubts regarding his future at the club.
The USA international prefers to continue with them, but he does not appear in the plans of current boss Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi left him out of the matchday squad to face Rayo Vallecano at the weekend, and Sport claim that he should be sold.
United are leading the hunt at the moment with talks held with the Blaugrana. They are prepared to pay the fee (€20m).
However, the transfer will be dependent on whether they are able to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka on either a loan or permanent deal.
Wan-Bissaka is the subject of interest from former club Crystal Palace while Barcelona have also been deemed as possible admirers.
It remains to be seen whether there is a swap deal on the cards. Barcelona may prefer a cash move with their tight financial situation.
