Manchester United could reportedly compete with Atletico Madrid to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
The Argentine has been an ever-present figure for the Villans since his move from Arsenal two years ago for £23 million.
He has been touted for a bigger challenge with Atletico recently, but Football Insider cite that the Red Devils are also keen.
The Spaniard has been a mainstay for the past 11 seasons, but his current deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign.
The club don’t want to trigger a 12-month clause due to his hefty £350,000-a-week wages, and may spend on a new purchase.
Martinez has been earmarked as a top target for them and it remains to be seen whether they can lure him ahead of Atletico.
While the Madrid giants have been regulars in the Champions League, the same can’t be said about the current United side.
