Manchester United could make a surprise approach to sign Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry this summer, according to Fussball Transfers.
Gnabry is currently as an integral part of Bayern’s plans, but there is speculation over his future with his contract expiring in June 2023.
Bayern have reportedly hit a roadblock in negotiations over the past few months with Gnabry unsatisfied over his positional instructions this term.
The German has regularly played on the right-wing, but has featured as a right wing-back when Julian Nagelsmann has picked a back three.
Gnabry is frustrated with Nagelsmann’s decision to play him in the defensive position, and this has contributed to the ongoing contract stand-off.
Bayern recently lost the services of Niklas Sule. Having entered the final six months of his deal, he has now committed his future to Borussia Dortmund.
The German champions may not want another repeat. United could capitalise on the situation to sign the former Arsenal graduate this summer.
