Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly this summer.
The Magpies are expected to move for at least one centre-back, and they have been heavily linked with Lille’s Sven Botman.
However, a deal appears difficult with Botman’s preference to join AC Milan, and this may urge them to look elsewhere.
According to The Mirror, Bailly has now emerged as a possible alternative. The defender is open to staying in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old struggled for first-team football last season, and was limited to under 500 minutes of playing time under three managers.
He has decided to move on with United eyeing another centre-back. It has been reported that he could be available for just £10 million.
Newcastle have yet to make any high-profile signings this summer.
